Cover Crop Adoption Linked to Incentive Programs

A University of Illinois study found that the increase in cover crop adoption over the last decade is linked to an increase in state and federal cover crop incentive programs. Funding has increased from $5 million in 2005 to $156 million in 2018, while cover crop adoption doubled between 2017 and 2021.

Weekly Virtual Meet-Ups Allow No-Tillers to Improve Conservation Practices

On January 18, 25 and February 1, One Good Idea is hosting Good Idea Shop Talks, a free, virtual meet-up for row crop and livestock farmers across the Midwest and mid-South who want to exchange ideas and troubleshoot challenges related to improving soil and water resources. Grants are also available to farmers who are implementing low-cost edge-of-field conservation practices.
