Water and Fencing Options for Grazing Cover Crops

In this video, Bill Frederick of Jefferson, Iowa, Nick Smith of Epworth, Iowa, and Nathan Anderson of Aurelia, Iowa, delve into what sort of fencing and water systems they use when grazing cover crops: from using existing perimeter fence and creeks to delivering water and using polywire for intensive grazing.

Using Robots to Seed Cover Crops

This video shows off the second year of the I-FARM: Farm of the Future research into using autonomous land rover robots to broadcast cover crop seed in standing corn. Seeding cover crops in mid-August allows the cover crop a much earlier germination than it would otherwise get if it was seeded after the corn is harvested in late September.

Grower Gives Update on Waist-High No-Till Soybeans & Cover Crops

In this video from Dairyland Dairyman, watch a short update on the soybeans that were planted into a green standing cover crop on May 27. Most of the cover crop residue is broken down and the soybeans have completely canopied over the space between the rows. These soybeans were planted on 30 inch row spacing.
