BROOKFIELD, Wis. — Through the American Society of Agronomy (ASA) and Soil Science Society of America (SSSA), continuing education credits have been approved for the upcoming National Cover Crop Summit, a free online event designed to improve cover crop knowledge and management for farmers and educators.
There is already a high degree of interest in the free 2-day summit, as its drawn registrations from all 50 U.S. states and more than 40 countries. The full lineup of speakers and sessions topics can be found on the Summit website.
A total of 9 board-certified continuing education credits have been approved the American Society of Agronomy and Soil Science Society of America for the 2019 National Cover Crop Summit, slated for March 20-21, 2019. To earn continuing education credit for a particular session attendees must enter their CCA# and email address at the conclusion of the presentations. To earn continuing education credits, attendees are required to watch the entire presentation.
“When someone becomes a Certified Crop Advisor they sign a code of ethics. False reporting of CEUs is a violation of the CCA ethics code and it could lead to a certification being revoked,” says Lacey Edwardson, a certification representative for the ASA/SSSA.
Attendees can still earn continuing education credits after the event concludes on March 21, 2019 at 6 p.m. CDT by watching the online sessions, filling out the "Missing CEU" form with ASA/SSSA and sending it in — but they will not be board-certified credits. See the event FAQs for more information. The following National Cover Crop Summit sessions have been approved for CEUs. The tracking numbers are valid for either March 20 or March 21 viewing.
