Fitting the Cover Crop to the Farm and Making Money Doing It

Gary Zimmer

Grower, Lone Rock, Wis.

In the words of the father of biological farming himself, Gary Zimmer says that in Southern Wisconsin, by the time he gets corn harvested in the fall, it’s already November and the only choice left is rye. He then frost seeds a clover blend in the rye in spring and has a rye / clover cover crop year. Gary says his money is made on corn and his input is very low. In this presentation, learn how Gary Zimmer grows one year corn followed by one year soil building cover crops on a highly profitable organic farm.
